Ortho said my teeth are too small

So my ortho said he can’t close my gaps or it would throw off my bite, bc my teeth are too small. I always knew one of my teeth was shaped funny and too small, but I thought the rest were fine. He said in order for my teeth to be right I’d have to get veneers or some sort of bonding agent on my teeth to make them bigger. That sounds really expensive to me. Have you had to get this done? And what was the cost? Also, I’d really love to see before and after pictures if you have them! I’ve inserted some visuals of my teeth for reference.
