So I just talked to my friend about breastfeeding and she went to 4 months. Her entire 4 months she said breastfeeding hurt so she stopped. I thought it gets easier and less painful now I’m scared! So far I’ve been going strong for 6wks

Maybe baby’s latch isn’t correct or may have a tongue or lip tie.

If all breastfeeding does is hurt then there is something wrong.

She must have been doing something wrong. I went 18 months with my first and I’m on 8 months with my second. It didn’t even hurt with my second.

It is not supposed to be painful. Pain is usually caused by a bad latch, tongue or lip tie.

She must not have had a good latch. I went for 3 months and had to stop because I wasn't producing enough... but it never hurt once. I enjoyed breastfeeding and wished I could have gone longer.

Went to 18 months with my daughter. Hurt like hell the first 2 weeks but once her latch was good, my nipples were basically numb to everything. Lactation specialists really helped get us to the process of it not hurting

It hurt for a few weeks but stopped. I’m at nearly 16 months of bf now.
