ICSI and birth defects?

Happy Friday! My husband and I will most likely be doing 
IVF
 with ICSI because of male factor infertility. I have been reading about an increase of birth defects associated with ICSI. We will be getting the PGS testing done as well but still worried. Wanted to hear what others experience was regarding this. Thank you!

Our doctor told us that there was a study done that showed an increased risk of birth defects, but that since it was done, repeat studies haven’t seen the same results. 
There’s a theory that men with lower sperm quality are the cause of higher birth defects, not the method of ICSI. 
We did ICSI and didn’t do pgs testing since we only had one embryo. She stuck and we just had our anatomy scan today with no signs of anything abnormal!
