How can you tell?

I know they say your water breaking is not always a big gush, sometimes it can be a trickle - I’m constantly discharging, like no matter what I can always feel it coming 24/7 how will I know/will I know for sure if it’s my water trickling or just the same discharge that’s been happening

A nurse at my labor and delivery ward told me if you have had a cervical exam recently you can experience increased wetness for 3 days because your body is trying to push out any possible bacteria that was exposed during the exam and if it's your water leaking it's more like a peeing sensation that doesn't stop. 
But if you're worried it doesn't hurt to call the hospital

With my first, it felt like a pee that I couldn’t control. I got up for my early morning pee like I normally do then went back to bed. Then 20 minutes later I felt like I was peeing myself and had no control over it. I got up to check my pad and it was slightly pinkish. Strong contractions started about 15-20 minutes later. From my own experience and everyone else I’ve talked to, you’ll know when it happens!

With my second son I felt a small gush in bed, like I started peeing and stopped, then when I stood up it was a constant flow. Ended up in a puddle. I knew it wasn’t pee because I had to pee and was still holding it. I had small trickles the whole way to the hospital and when they checked me and did the cough test, they didn’t even have to test the fluid, they knew it was my water
