Ovulation tests-how often?

How often should I test with ovulation test strips? I just have the cheapie Pregmate ones I think. I never seem to get a dark line much less one darker than the control line but I’m just testing once a day (usually around the same time of day) during my fertile “week”. Does the darkness change quickly throughout the day, like a couple hours between tests? Any tips welcome!!

At the beginning of my expected fertile week I begin testing twice  a day. You'd be surprised! 😀
I lept wondering why ai hadn't been seeing a positive or peak result for the last few cycles. A couple weeks ago I finally got a positive then an even darker peak result.

I test twice per day, once when I get up in the morning and then again about 10 hours later. I do this 2-3 days after the lady day of my period. I’ve found, for me at least, I get much more accurate readings than by just doing it once a day. I felt like I always missed my peak day when testing only once.
