Is this normal with braces??

Help!

So I've had braces for almost 15 months. And I've always had swollen gums on the bottom, but it just doesnt look right.

And yes, I floss, I even use a water pik to help. I have really good oral hygiene.

I plan on asking my orthodontist on my next appointment and see what he says, but for now, have any of you had this happen when you got braces?

I was thinking, what if its extra gum cause my bottom teeth were pushed back and pretty crowded. But I'm just not sure.
