How long should baby nurse?

My baby girl is 3 weeks old, and I feed her whenever she is hungry. Usually around every 1.5 hours. I am wondering though, how long are your babies nursing for? I think my baby uses me as a pacifier sometimes! But I am curious what you guys experience?

My feedings are usually 15 minutes or less (some as short as 7 minutes) but I think I mightbjave a pretty fast flow. A lactation consultant can actually work woth you and measure your baby before and after a feeding to determine how mich they are getting. I've read that comfort nursing can also be a thing (human pacifier!) and saw this is typically ifnthey are trying to nurse more frequently than every 90 min.

I nurse when he is hungry as well. During the day we are anywhere between 1-3 hours at night we are 2.5-3 hours. Typically when we only go an hour it's because he only fed for 5 or so minutes
