Hairstylist I need your help!!!!!

Okay I dyed my hair black bc I hated the unevenness of dark brown/ black I had. My hair is like 3c and is dyed black. I wanna dye my hair chocolate brown, I wanted to use creme nature bc it seems to work but for non- dyed black hair. So should I get the box and dye my hair or would it be a waste? I heard that I would have to lift the black out of my hair which sounds like I need to go to the salon but I’m going through it and I wanna dye my hair NOW.
