Thoughts on tipping delivery drivers?

I regularly order delivery, and I always make sure I tip at least 2$, be it cash or card, but I always tip 2-5$. Last time I ordered like a 12$ order and tipped 3$ on my card, and when I pick up the order dude starts being super rude and got mad I didn’t tip cash on top of the card tip... personally I work a tip based job and understand but I think tips are more of a thank you for doing this for me kind of thing, not to knock anyone’s hustle but you’re just delivering my food, I’m definitely not giving over a 20% tip unless the weather sucks. I was legit surprised and just took my food and kept looking back at the guy being upset about that cuz I was genuinely surprised lol... I honestly wish I’d taken my tip back

Edit: this was a grub hub driver- I do take into account of its an actual worker delivering like dominoes or Chinese food

I didn’t have cash 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also distance was under 2 miles - I’ve never had an issue with a grub hub driver like that.

If anyone has ever worked for grub hub and tell me if they actually get the tips on card - please enlighten me lol. I use it all the time and always tip on card cuz like most people now a day’s I don’t carry cash. I don’t have a car and I don’t feel safe carrying it. 3$ is not much but it is more than 20% of my order, and I’m gonna stick to that.
