Coffee & breastfeeding ?

Is it ok to drink a cup of coffee while breastfeeding ? My mother in law came to visit & she saw I was drinking a cup and she panicked saying that baby was going to be fuzzy all day crying etc. I don’t drink everyday maybe twice a week, my baby is 2 weeks old.

Stop listening to your MIL. It’s totally fine! If you’re worried limit to once a day. I had 2-4 cups a day my kids are totally fine and didn’t have any reactions. In the first 3 months I limited to 1 cup a day just in case. It didn’t make any difference.

Yes you can drink coffee. I drink like 3-4 cups a day. If I couldn’t, I wouldn’t be breastfeeding anymore. My LO doesn’t have a problem with it. She’s 3 months

Just try to keep it under 300 mg of caffeine and none will pass through the milk.  I do 1-2 cups a day.  If I do more, baby gets fussy and his reflux is irritated.
