Does he like me? Please help!

Ok so I really REALLY like this guy right? And it’s weird because I’m not one for dating and all that stuff, especially since all the guys at my school are just gross (I guess typical teenage boys but they have some $$$ so they are pretty snobby). Anyway, this guy, let’s call him L, is totally the opposite. He’s really sweet and funny, and he actually makes me want to have a relationship. We’ve known each other since freshman year and we’ve been casual-ish friends (we are in our junior year now). I say casual-ish because we never actually shared numbers. I tried to give him my Snapchat code once but I got really nervous and I never ended up giving it to him. Then we had a class together sophomore year and talked occasionally.

Fast forward to to this year, we have the same first period together. I just recently developed feelings for him so this is all kind of new for me. So for the past couple of weeks, maybe a month idk for sure, L has been extremely talkative to me and my best friend (she’s also in the class and we sit next to each other). L always sits somewhere near where we sit even though he could sit by his friends (seating is our choice at this point) and joining into our conversations or listening (not in a creepy way) and then asking questions. Normally I’d think he likes my best friend since she is the more social of the two of us but she is very openly a lesbian. He also has been making a lot more eye contact, like whenever I’d look over to him he has been looking at me (not in a creepy way I promise). At one point I was having a really rough morning and close to tears so he kind of looked at me for a moment and then proceeded to make a bunch of jokes until I finally laughed, at which point he stopped. Then this week he just completely stopped. He is typically pretty social and he was pretty quiet this week so i thought maybe he was having a rough week, but I’m not sure.

Being around my best friend brings out a more goofy side he hasn’t seen before so I was thinking he was reacting to that? Does he actually like me, or did I over exaggerate it all in my head? I’d like to be friends with him even if he doesn’t like me back. ADVICE PLS! (Also sorry for the book 😬)
