Birth control pills

How long dose it take for birth control pills to stop ur period I been taking them almost a month a light spotted for 3 days then 18 days passed now I’m light spotting again is that normal is the spotting a period ? I use to be super regular but decided to get on birth control pills after I had my baby my periods were horrible the pills helped ALOT with cramps but will it take my period away completely
