Baby Sleeping on Side?

Question

I had my baby on 1/31, tonight is our first night at home. Baby keeps rolling to side to sleep no matter what I do, I put him on his back and he rolls right back. Should I be concerned and what can I do?

Babies can sleep on their sides, its totally fine. However from my pediatrician the recommendation would be to not swaddle.

Our girl slept like that. That's  why we never put anything in her bed, just a mattress and a sheet. When it got colder she was 6m, we put her in a sleeping bag - she continued to roll sideways.

That’s totally fine if they do it themselves. My baby has always slept on his side. I sometimes rolled a towel up and set it by his belly so he couldn’t roll all the way over - but he never rolled onto his tummy even without the towel

It’s a reflex. Newborns usually lose it after a few weeks I believe.

It’s fine as long as baby is unswaddled and the bed is clear of any loose blankets or objects that could cause suffocation. Just keep putting your little one down on their back and if they roll, they roll. Mine has always done the same.
