I’ve talked to my mother in law multiple times about her ASKING in advance to take our 6 month old somewhere that we haven’t previously said okay to (like taking him to the park to walk on the days she watches him is fine but anything else that comes up I want run by us so that I feel like we have a say in this). Last Friday my husband texted me and said “my mom told me she’s taking Baby to a birthday party at 1:00”.

Not asked, told. No advance notice.

I’m livid because I feel like she’s disrespecting what I’ve asked (again). And I’m also upset because my husband (and at least 2 others) have said that “she’s not going to change.... so you might as well just get over it”

Am I wrong to be mad? Am I wrong to say I expect her to ASK us (not tell us) and to do so in advance? We are in our mid-30s and I feel like I’m being treated like a child that has no say....
