Can you.. undilate?

At my last appointment I was dilated my doctor said between 1 and 2 and today I had a different doctor because my regular had a family emergency and the different doctor said I’m closed? Is it normal for that to happen. I honestly think he just didn’t feel what the first doctor felt, because he did it really fast and my cervix is high. I asked and he said the first doctor may have just thought I was more open? Honestly soo confused lol.

Each doctor has different methods of measuring. But if you were a 1-2,  both doctors should have at least agreed that you arent completely closed. I guess the only thing you can do is wait it out.

I really think it depends on the size of their fingers. The same happened with my first one dr said I was 1cm then the next week at my appointment a different dr said I was closed. I went into labor four days later 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes your cervix can close after being dilated. Happened to me when I got stressed during labor and my OB explained it happens a lot.

I don’t think that’s possible, but every medical professional has their own way of measuring. With my first I went in and they said I was a 6 and the next nurse said I was only a 4 about 15 minutes later.
