Mucus plug lost , how long till labour ?

Hey ladies, this morning I had the mucus plug ( jelly with a little blood) and I'm wondering should i go and get checked or wait for contractions to start or water to break ? I'm 39 weeks and 2 days ! I have alot of pain at night in the lower belly and my lower back is killing me with irregular contractions or maybe they are false contractions ( not sure ) !

Wait for your contractions to start. Losing your mucus plug can mean labor is near or still days or even weeks away, depending on our far along you are.

Losing your plug doesn’t mean much unfortunately. I wish it did! 
Wait for your contractions to be steady or for your water to break. 
My midwife said not to go to the hospital unless I could time my contractions by the 511 rule. 
Contractions 5 minutes apart, lasting 1 minute or longer, for 1 hour or longer.
