Did they switch your bc after 1-2 years?

Question

So I was making a new gyno appointment to refill a prescription and I asked if I can stay with my Apri prescription because I really liked  them. And the secretary told me that my gyno might switch them next year because your body shouldn't get used to it.
This is the first time I've ever heard this. I finally have a pill that works great for me D:

I was on my first birth control for 7 years before switching and that was because I wanted to try something new. And then my most recent switch was because the doctor thought the new one would be a better fit for me. I’ve never heard of a doctor doing that but maybe new research shows it’s important. If you like your BC just tell your doctor that and they may not change you since you aren’t having problems.

I had to switch bc after about 10 months but that's only because the brand I was using wasn't being produced anymore. I really liked it though, so I wish I could've stayed on it.

They did for me because they were no longer working for me and I was having breakthrough bleeding a lot
