Late start to progesterone ?

My doc prescribed me letrozole and progesterone. I was already in luteal phase when I saw my doc, so I haven’t taken letrozole yet, but I’m wondering if others have taken progesterone a little later in the luteal phase ? (I.e, he said to take it 1-2 days after ovulation but I’m now 5 dpo... given my short luteal phase, AF should come in 3 days. .)

Does it make a difference for my current cycle to start it tonight ? Should I just wait until next cycle ?

I’m thinking it can’t hurt 🤷🏻‍♀️
