We did it 🤗 One full year of breastfeeding my little boy 💙
Today my son turns 1... it’s so bittersweet and I’ve been emotional the last few days. Our journey hasn’t been easy as I’m sure many of you can relate to.... short Nicu stay, problems latching, inverted nipple, cracked painful nipples, pumping, clogged ducts galore, lack of support from my husband, etc. I went back to work at 9 weeks and have been pumping three times every day at work since then. I have been up nursing overnight every night since he was born. I wasn’t even sure if I would breastfeed when I was pregnant with him but once he was born I decided that I would try my hardest to make it work for him and I’m so proud of us for doing it. Our journey isn’t over but he’s eating solids really well now so doesn’t nurse as much during the day. I am hoping to cut back to 2 pumps per day, then 1 pump per day, then stop pumping and continue nursing at night for as long as we can. The bond we have developed and the love I have for this boy is indescribable. All the hard work has been so worth it. 💙❤️🥰
