Preeclampsia story

When I was pregnant with my son at around 32 weeks I noticed his movements drop to barely anything, I told the midwife and her response was "it's nothing to worry about, it's probably because your small".... which makes no sense at all.

Then at my next appt she tested my urine paused... took my blood pressure and just said..."off to hospital you go, go home pack a back and go straight there". I was terrified, the night before my appt I had a dream that he came early and that dream was all i could think about after that. Got to the hospital was put on a monitor for maybe half an hour before they decided they couldn't wait any longer, they didnt even have time to induce me at this point, emergency c section it was. The consultant was beyond amazing. He made me feel so safe to the point where i wasnt really aware of the danger me and my boy were in. He spoke to me through out the c section and I finally I got to meet my boy 🥰 perfect in every way, weighing 4lb and 7oz, he couldn't regulate his own temperature and he had suspected sepsis so was kept in the special care baby unit for 3 weeks.

After I was taken back to the ward I was informed that my placenta was totally dead and that my baby was barely surviving... he said any longer and me and my son would most likely not be here. I am so thankful that I had my appointment that day. I had no other symptoms of preeclampsia apart from high protein and blood pressure. Always count your baby's kicks... if only my midwife had listened to me!
