Proper way to clean down there?

I shower everyday and make sure I take care of myself and I know vaginas aren’t supposed to smell like flowers but sometimes I get self conscious that I have an odd scent? So i’m just wondering what the proper way to clean is.

My doctor told me do not put anything past the lips but WATER... it throws the ph balance off.. like you can clean the outside with soaps or whatever but don’t clean inside  with anything.

It usually is self cleaning and don’t worry about smelling because everyone has a smell to them that is just natural some are sweet and others but just take a little bit of soap and clean the are up and it should be good just make sure not to put it inside of you
