Anyone else very possesive?

Is anyone else super possessive and stressing themselves out about sharing the baby once they are born? I feel like I carried this little human for 9 months and the thought of having to share him once he’s born makes me sooooo sad. Especially once he’s brand new and we are in the hospital. I feel like my family is going to be hounding me to hold him and I just don’t want to share...

I’ve been feeling the same. Especially with the rules I’ve put in place for visitors when my son is born. A few people have a problem with them (They aren’t unreasonable at all. Don’t visit if sick, wash your hands, don’t kiss baby, etc) and I just feel like I’m going to turn into a momzilla.

I think that’s very normal and probably part of our maternal instincts. I learned from my first and won’t be telling anyone that I’ve had the baby for at least a few days except my mum because she’s looking after my 21 month old daughter. I want to spend those first few days bonding with my baby without visitors constantly pouring in.

Yes! With my first baby we had a baby shower for my sister in law before my girl was a month old so I put her in a carrier so no one could try to grab her. I had a couple people from my husbands family demand to hold her and I said no. When most people left I took her out of the carrier and let my in laws hold her but she didn’t have any shots and I was not about to play pass the baby with a room full of people. 🙅🏻‍♀️

I live with family and this is what I’m scared of. I told my mom (who doesn’t live with me) I’m getting a sign on my door that says do not disturb because I’m scared they’re gonna be wanting to see the baby all the time 😩

I’ve been getting the exact same feeling and have even considered telling even immediate family that we don’t want any visitors for this exact reason ... so what works best for you. The time spent in the hospital is you (and possible other children or spouse) adjusting to new baby and new lifestyle and also you’re in recovery. That is your call mama! And then of course when ya get home you have the “we’re settling in” excuse 😉 good luck! I still haven’t made up my mind about anything.

I don’t want to share at all either.. I waited years for this baby and thought I couldn’t even have kids. So I’m hoping people will respect my wishes and make their visits short. I think it should be more normalized to delay visitors for at least a few days.
