Who sleep trained using the Ferber method?

Ik imma receive hate but don’t care 🤷🏻‍♀️ everyone has an opinion my pediatrician is recommending I give it a shot since baby’s lack of sleep could be affecting his growth!

We did with my firstborn. The first night was rough but literally after that naps improved tremendously and she started sleeping 12 hours straight through the night

I loosely followed it. The first night is supposed to be 3 minutes, 5, then 10. Then work up each night from there. I did 3, 5, added a 7 minute check in, then 10. And I stuck to that schedule the next nights because I couldn’t handle more than 10 minutes of crying. I’m also not weaning him of his night feeds like some people do. My baby was premature so he is playing catch up still and needs those calories. He also has consistent wake times for bottles so I know when to have him go back to sleep vs feed him.
It worked great for us. First night was rough, second night was better, then third night he put himself to sleep with no tears. He will occasionally cry for a couple minutes when I lay him down if he didn’t nap well during the day and gets over tired, but I usually don’t have to go in, he’ll put himself to sleep before I’m due to do the 3 minutes check in. He’s also only waking for his bottles, which is twice a night. Typically sleeping 4-5 hours at a time

I kind of did but not intentionally following the method. I wanted her to learn to self soothe and just let her fuss a bit this week to see if she was ready to learn because she’s just hitting 4 months. I think it’s worked because now her daytime naps are spanning up to 2 hours! It’s much easier to put her down and if she wakes up after a bit (like 30 min) she doesn’t cry like she used to and puts herself back to sleep. She’s always slept well at night - so no issues there. 
Fingers crossed this isn’t just a fluke and temporary. 
I’m glad I let her try. She was ready.

I don’t know about the Ferber method, but we definitely use a method for waiting and attending with only incrementally increasing intervention when he cries at bedtime and overnight. With their sleep cycles changing, it feels really important to help him learn to put himself back to sleep without interfering by picking him up, etc. It seems to be working really well for us. ♥️
