Provera (10mg pill)

Hey ladies,

Earlier this week I had severely heavy bleeding at the start of my period (going through a super tampon in an hour for over 24hrs). Went to ER. They said I was experiencing menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding) or possibly an anovulatory cycle (meaning I didn’t ovulate this cycle), so he prescribed me 10 days of Provera to slow down the bleeding. In most cases, women are prescribed this medication to kick start their periods, but in my case mine was to simply slow down the bleeding. I have had my period every month, so I’m just curious if this will screw up my cycle since I have been getting periods monthly? Has anyone experienced this? Did it mess up your cycle at all? TTC and really worried this will make it worse.

I should also note I have been having bouts of irregular spotting between periods for months now, but doctor has not found any reason for it (they have literally tested me and done multiple ultrasounds, cat scans etc) no reasoning for the spotting. 🤷‍♀️ Hoping that maybe the Provera will help with that too since it’s supposed to re-start everything? If anyone has taken Provera for spotting too, please comment! Thanks!
