BBT Help

So I am new to all of this completely. Everyone talks about their bbt so I decided to start tracking mine. This is the first day I have done it and it was 96.8. If it is low, does that mean there is no chance for me this month? I'm around 9 dpo just based on tracking my period. My temps are rarely ever higher than 98.0 anytime I have checked when I thought I was running a fever or something.

Im having a hard time understanding how to know when I'm ovulating. I always just thought you tracked your period and counted from that. Who knew all of this stuff played into ttc!🤷‍♀️
