Inconsiderate? Yes or no
So my hubby and I are expecting in May. I don't know what the sex is as I want to keep it a surprise. (Hubby knows but it's doing a good job at maintaining the secret 😁). So my grandmother, whom I'm extremely close to, asked if we would consider giving the baby the middle name (if a boy) after her deceased son (my uncle) and her father. She then said that she would be extremely honored and overjoyed if we did that. They share the same name. I don't want to, so I said "we'll consider it and I'll talk with my husband". I spoke with him about it and he responded "hell no" . He doesn't like the name and neither do I. I feel like it was completely inconsiderate of her to ask that and to apply pressure to us to name our child after them. What about naming the kid after my husband, or my dad, or my father in law? Does anyone else have any experience with being pressured into naming their child after someone? If so, how'd you let them down easy?
TIA
