Metformin to help regulate and start periods again?

Hey everyone me again 
Finally after 54 days being late my doctor ga me 500mg daily metformin for a month to see if it will help bring period or ovulation on.
Has anyone used metformin to get periods back of so how long did it take? 
Also did anyone fall pregnant on the metformin?

I take 500mg. With conception pills. If I take just metformin nothing happens for me. I need the other ones to actually get a period.

I have been taking Metformin for a month. It has not regulated my period yet but i ovulated

I take metformin but it does not help me get my period. I have to take letrazole for ovulation and when I take that each month it comes.

Metformin and weight loss works for me. The metformin helps with weight loss. Ideally the goal dose is 2gm per day if you tolerate the GI side effects. I see a lot of people stop it d/t diarrhea. I have found taking my dose at night I get any tummy trouble out of the way first thing in the morning. Taking the extended release formulation helps as well. Also increase your dose as slowly as you need to and if you stop taking it you’ll need to titrations back up. Good Luck!

I think my personal situation had a lot of other factors like stress and hostile work environment that made my PCOS worse, BUT my gyn started me at 500mg then increased eventually to 850mg BID and once I started de stressing and was on that dose for about 4-6 months my period came back. I had another doctor lower it and my period stopped. Once I got back on the 850mg BID it took 5 months for my period to come back, but I ovulated then and now I’m pregnant! I definitely think it helped us. Overall I think I was on it at different doses for almost 4 years.

I just started. She put me on 1000. She said I'm insulin resistant so I have to eat better and exercise. All 3 of mine were conceived after significant weight losses.
