Dying hair pregnant?

My hair is naturally brown and it looks so bad because it’s coming out the blonde i have and I have a baby shower coming up but my mom keeps saying it’s so bad to dye your hair while pregnant. Has someone done this before??? Advice please!

I stand with the American Pregnancy association, they are an organization to protect babies so I’d go with what they say. ALSO not to be rude but Is the chance of it hurting your baby really worth you not being flawless having natural roots at your baby shower. I don’t see how anyone could put their beauty above a chance of any harm to their child.

If it’s just your roots, and you’d rather not chance it, could you get a spray in root concealer? They’re like coloured hairspray. I used one for my wedding because my hair is so thin you can see my scalp in sunlight. It washes out in the shower.

My hair dresser and doctor said wait until 2nd trimester. You can always do high lights to make the roots less stark to your already dyed hair. That’s what I did with my platinum hair. I didn’t like the idea of bleach sitting on my scalp.

It's totally fine just make sure you are in a well ventilated area. Also keep in mind that sometimes pregnancy hormones can throw off the color a bit. So it may not be exactly what you normally get when you dye it.

Dying your hair is absolutely safe but the chemicals in the bleach to lighten your hair are not safe to breath so make sure you are in a salon or a well ventilated area.
