I would consider it IF it was for a really important event, I’d had a perfectly healthy pregnancy to that point, my doctor was ok with it, and my insurance would cover me fully if needed while I was in the other country. I would also make sure there would be no issues bringing baby back home if by chance I ended up having him/her while in the other country.

It depends on whether you’d be comfortable with potentially having your baby be born there. I considered doing this with my son but then canceled my trip because I wasn’t feeling like sitting in a car for a bunch of hours and it felt like an unnecessary administrative headache if he were born there. They have really excellent medical care there so that was not a concern. Ultimately I just decided it wasn’t worth the headache for me but it also depends on the reason for travel. If it had been super important to me, I would’ve made it happen.

I am travel by boat to another state next week. I will be 34 weeks when we leave and 35 week when we come back. Midwife said it’s fine. I’ve prepared myself incase bubs does decide to come over there. I’ve got her bag packed and have mapped out the nearest hospital to ensure it wasn’t far from anything we are doing.

My dr office doesn’t want you to travel after 35 weeks. I’m hoping to get permission to go to my sisters graduation at 38 weeks which is 3 hours from home

I had my son in the 36th week. Anything can happen its pretty risky to travel that far along

My family is in the states (I’m in Canada) and I did it at 28 weeks but I wouldn’t do it that close to my due date. Plus the boarder will probably give you a lot of annoying questions to ensure you aren’t traveling there JUST to have the baby. They MAY turn you away
