Membrane sweep!

Yesterday I got my membranes swept and was wondering if anyone else has done it and got a positive result from it? My OB advised me I could have cramping, light contractions and spotting for up to 24hrs or more (which she was right I have) but has it actually helped trigger labor for anyone? Was there anything you did to help like walking, sex, stairs??? How long did it take? Sorry if they seem like stupid questions, I meant to ask my ob yesterday but my son was really fussy so I was rushing out of there.
