Should I see a fertility specialist?

Alyssa • 👼👼👼👼👼👼👼👶

I’m not sure if I should see a specialist sooner or later. It’s not covered on my insurance at all, so it’ll be pretty expensive. I don’t want to spend the money now if I should just wait longer, but I don’t want to wait longer than necessary. Here’s a timeline of things that have happened:

Dec 2017: decided to start TTC

Jan 2018: had LEEP done to remove high-grade cervical dysplasia

Aug 2018: pregnant

Oct 2018: miscarriage at 9 weeks

Nov-Dec 2018: had a hemorrhagic cyst on my ovary

May 2019: chemical pregnancy/miscarriage

Oct 2019: had laparoscopy done to remove endometriosis & massive hemorrhagic cyst

I’ve technically been trying for 2 years, but I’ve had all these things happen during that time. But I know that you can be considered “infertile” if you’ve been trying for at least a year & haven’t gotten pregnant yet. So am I “infertile” since I haven’t had a baby in the 2 years I’ve been TTC?? Or should I put off seeing a fertility specialist for a little while because I have gotten pregnant & had surgeries???
