My sister is my mother?!

I am angry
I am confused
I can’t stop laughing. I guess this is my way of stopping myself from exploding. 
After 25 years of thinking my parents were my parents, I just found out that they are actually my grandparents and the person I thought was my elder sister is actually my mother. Huh? What?!

Dont be angry. Maybe she couldn't provide for you so she did the right thing by giving you to her parents because she knew you would be safe and still around her. I went to school with a few kids whose mom was their adopted sister and it worked out they were raised super good people .. just have a calm talk with them and ask what happend and why(if you even want to know)

I think often times people choose this path with the intention on telling the child “when the time is right” - but is there ever really a right time for that? I am sure they had their reasons for doing that, but you are allowed to feel the way you are feeling. I know I would feel betrayed.

When you are ready, which may take a while, Make a list of questions that you have for all of them and request to sit down with them and have them explain it to you. Be open. Be brutally honest. Demand the truth and dont settle for anything less. There are no guarantees that you will like what they have to say.. but there is freedom in the truth. When all is said and done, take a deep breath, evaluate your life and who you still want in it, and start to move forward from there.

It’s more common than you think. My aunt wanted to adopt my sister when my mom has her at 16 abs gave her up for adoption. My mom said no because she didn’t want her to be confused thinking her mother is her aunt.

Happens qutie a lot in my family theres a similar situation.  
After my i think either he was my uncle or  great uncle his daugther found out that he was actually her grandfather and her mother was her sister.

My boyfriends grandparents raised him while his mother still resided with them and he just called her by her first name and his grandparents by mom/dad so similar situation except hes known all his life, I couldn’t imagine just finding out after that long of time
