Genetic ultrasound??

Hello I was diagnosed with sub-chronic hematoma and was suggested I do a genetic ultrasound test. Is that something that you think I could opt out of? I called my insurance today and they do not cover it at all :/ I am at loss from has no replied to my message and I’m not sure we can swing the cost.

SCH doesn’t often have much to do with the genetics of babe from how I understand it (my doc said you have a higher risk of SCH with subsequent pregnancies, age, IVF amongst other things).  They just monitored baby’s growth via ultrasound and the size of the hematoma.  We did IVF with embryos that were already tested genetically, but I have never heard of monitoring a SCH with a genetics test.  Is there another reason that they may want to test?

I have one as well and all they do is an ultrasound on me to ensure its getting smaller and not larger. Genetic testing was not recommended for anything like that and I was never told of a correlation. I would definitely probe the dr's office and ask why they are requesting it

I've had 2 subcorionic hematomas and both babies turned out perfectly fine.
