Any one else's 6mo only feed 4 times a day?

My daughter is 28wks (16.5lbs), bottle fed expressed breast milk (just this past week started cereals but she's not really taking in much). She sleeps 10-11hrs straight at night. About two weeks ago she decided she only wants to eat 4x a day, however she hasn't increased the amount she's taking per feed. Currently she's averaging 24-25oz of milk a day. She produces 6-8 wet diapers a day, and is still following her growth curve.

I brought the drop in feeding up with her pediatrician last week because before the drop she spent almost two weeks taking in 30oz a day, so I wanted to ensure that it was ok for her to be taking in less and drinking less often. He insisted that I need to continue to try and feed her at least 5x a day. (In fact he seemed shocked that she wasn't eating 8x!) I'm a little weary of his advice because if I try to feed her when she isn't hungry she just fights me, and then it seems like other meals start to become a battle as well.

Is anyone else's breast milk fed 6mo old only feeding 4x a day?
