Help! Husband has phenomena is milk safe ?

As most of you know our son is in the nicu. His lungs are collapsed and he died. Ect. He is on life support.

I take him my milk everyday but yesterday when my hubs and I were at the er all day.

Since he has a lung condition. Is there at all a chance milking around my spouse this whole time, that we could give him phenomena? He has a small case of it just in small parts of his lower lung. But still the docs put him on meds.

Made him wear a mask to not containment others.

Should I be throwing my milk away ? And have them give him formula ?

He’a been sick for over a week with this and always coughing around me cuz we live in a tiny room by the nicu. Also -

My milk has turned from creamy thick to milky watery white.

I’m very weak, don’t eat much. Not doing well. Was also at the er for myself.

Left because some ppl were waiting for 2 days.

Your milk changed bc you are exposed to the germs and your body is producing antibodies that get passed along to your child in the milk that actually will help protect baby. It’s a good thing!

It’s a sizing to watch the color and consistency change as it changes to help fight different things

This made me sooo freaking happy. So the milk doc offered to do a home visit until my sons doc called and said he drank everything I made and needs to either be on formula or get milk ASAP. Mama bear mode kicked in and I’m sick af but got my butt here and and gave them 15 bottles of milk. They also said exactly what you did that I was exposed to so many germs that he needs the new milk cuz it’ll help fight infection as well as he now has a viral infection and fever 🤒 and this is going to help. I’m am praying on my knees at this point

As someone else said, it’s the antibodies your body made to help baby fight off anything you’re exposed to. It helps baby. I was told by my doctor that even when I myself am sick, I should continue to breastfeed baby since the antibodies in my milk will help keep baby healthy. Prayers for your family’s recovery!!

Don’t have a doc here. 3 1/2 hours away from home. She isn’t there on weekends no one is.
