Latch help

Can anyone help me out and explain how to make sure my son(5 days old) is latching correctly? And how can I help him latch in the middle of the night? It seems to be a struggle for him.

My bub didn't match well so I used a nipple shield for the first 6 weeks. You could try that if you have any problems.

Girl my daughter is the same way. She won’t latch. Maybe one time every day. I gave up and just started pumping and formula. She just likes to nibble.
