Where does your baby go to daycare?

I currently work from home but we’re looking at relocating over the summer and baby will have to start going to daycare. I’ll most likely have about a 45 minute commute. He hatesss the car, so I’m thinking finding a daycare close to home would be best. But then again I’d hate having him so far if he were to get sick or hurt. For those with babies in daycare, what would you do?

We decided to do one close to home because it’s less time for babe to be in the car. My hubby and I get paranoid about our kids in the car because there are so many distracted drivers out there, especially where we live. People act like the rules of the road are just guidelines. 🙄

Just a thought - some daycares have a maximum hour limit per day (my daycare allows 9 hours per day). So if the daycare is far from work or an hourly daycare you’ll be paying for your commute.

Thanks mamas! Looks like it’s pretty 50/50. I hate that I’ll have such a long commute and my husband’s will more than likely be longer than mine.  Unfortunately we won’t be able to afford to buy a house in the city I’ll be working in ☹️ trying to look into care now but it’s hard being out of state! Reading all the reviews I can 😬

The daycare is close to our house, but is 30 mins from my work. However, it’s 10 mins from my husband’s work, 2.5 mins from grandma’s work and house and 1 mile from a family friend’s house.

His dayhome is about three minutes from home and maybe ten minutes from both of our work places, we really lucked out finding somewhere so close

My son goes to daycare where my husband works. There’s been several times where it’s been really convenient for him to run over there and check on him.

We went with close to home. My husband works from home and it's a little cheaper than close to where I work. I only work 10-15 mins away from home anyway 🤷

I went back and fourth with this so much. Ultimately, I chose to have her close to work. When she had an allergic reaction to peanuts, she was home with my husband (35 minutes away from my work) and I swear that was the longest drive of my entire life. Another time she randomly spiked a 103.3 fever and I was there in 5 minutes flat. 
I think that a lot of your decision should be on where you find a facility or provider that makes you the most comfortable though.

Daycare in the city where I work is 3x the cost of daycare where I live, just 5 miles north of the city so we use daycare near home.

My baby goes to daycare about 2 miles from where I work. 
But we also live maybe 6 miles from the daycare so it was more a matter of finding affordable care that we felt comfortable with.
