I don't want anyone with us until 24 hours after delivery. Thoughts?

This is my first, and I don't want any visitors from the time I get to the hospital until 24 hours have passed from the delivery. I think our family and friends would be stressing us out a lot in a moment where we need to rest and adapt to/ bond with our child. I told my husband not to tell anyone we have gone to the hospital until I give him green light. He respects that, and he is the only one I need by my side. What do you think?

You do what ever is gonna make you comfortable, happy and less stress! If you don’t want anyone to visit for 24 hours, then don’t tell anyone. You can always change your mind when the time comes. But you do you! 🥰

I thought I wouldn’t and then I really didn’t care when my parents and MIL showed up a few hours after delivery. It gave me some time to relax while they and my husband passed around our son. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I didn’t do skin to skin and I didn’t breastfeed so I wasn’t worried about all that, but it’s totally up to you.

I agree! I don’t understand why people feel the need to have to come and be there within minutes of birth, with no regard to how exhausting it may be for mom, dad and baby. They literally have the start of a lifetime to meet and see the baby, don’t even have the decency to wait. 🙄 my MIL self invited herself and was upset she was escorted out because my blood pressure was skyrocketing after birth. Now she calls my birth disgusting. Lol

We are waiting 3 or 4 days after we get home to have visitors. I want to be home, comfortable, feeling better, and know a little more about my baby before having visitors

This is mine and my fiancé’s plan. We want to be able to enjoy the birthing process without our phones being blown up and enjoy the babies presence for a little bit.

I had the same conversation with my husband. He agreed with it since it is my body & knows I’ll be exhausted. This is our first baby & we want to experience it together without all the extra stress.
