How did you guys prepare your pets?

Question

My dog is really attached to me and likes moving around in the car. He’s like an 80lbs baby himself. Do you think he’ll adjust or should I prepare him? Get him baby trained? Help.

We got a baby doll that cried and had it around the house for 9 months and then when I was in the hospital my family brought home the hat the baby wore the first night and let the dog sniff it and then we got home and he was so happy to meet the baby. They’ve been best friends ever since. He’s 130lb all black German shepard!

We started with the first pregnancy, playing a baby CD made for pets. Then at birth, we wrapped the baby in a receiving blanket, put the blanket in a bag and brought it home right away so our 3 dogs could all get used to the smell. They were fine when baby came home.

We just sent home babies first hat from the hospital before we came home and our friend came over to let him out and found he took it into his bed and was snuggling it our dog loved the baby and takes treats from him now

I didn't do anything. They all knew I was pregnant and would all acknowledge the baby in their own way in the womb. 
Our dogs are outdoor working dogs. They didn't see me or the baby for the first 2 or 3 weeks I was home except when I got food out of the freezer but it's my understanding bitch wolves isolate themselves for a time when their litters are first born so I don't think our dogs were entirely unfamiliar with the concept. When I first brought the baby out to meet them, they (110lbs and 170lbs) were excited to sniff/meet him but they were both docile and calm. The male loves babies and children so I wasn't worried anyways. The female was the wildcard but she understood from the beginning if she sat, was still, and was quiet, she would get more time to sniff and be near the baby.
