Femara and birth defects?

I am supposed to start femara after 3 rounds of unsuccessful clomid cycles. 
I am nervous about the risk of birth defects. 
Can anyone shed light on this from their own experiences or what you may know about this?

As far as I could research no additional risk of birth defects. As the others said it only stays in your system for a short time.

There are no birth defects. It just means if you are pregnant and take Femara, then it can cause birth defects. Which is why sometimes docs want to be sure you have a negative hpt test before taking your next round.

I didn’t realise there was a greater risk of this with femara? I’ve had 2 femara babies and no issues at all.

The half life of femera is short enough that it’s out of your system before implantation. It’s safe.
