When does the third trimester start

Seeing so many conflicting views. 
When I say 25 weeks I mean at the completion of the 25th week. Etc.

My dr said I was starting the third trimester Friday which was the beginning of week 27 for me

Technically each trimester is 13.33333 weeks. So, it would be 13 weeks and about 2 days for the first trimester. The second trimester would end around 26 weeks and 5 days. There’s no universally accepted weeks for each one because the trimesters fall between the cracks. My doctor counts week 14 as the start of the second trimester and week 27 as the start of the third trimester. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It makes the most sense, just rounding up.. in my opinion. Mentally, I like to count 13 weeks as the second trimester because it’s so close to week 13 that it technically ends.

27 weeks finishes out the 2nd trimester, so 28 weeks is the official beginning of it.
