How many words does your child say?

My son is 1yr 5months and doesn’t really says many words. I can tell he wants to but just won’t. He says mama, and cheese. He babbles all day long but no actual words besides those two. He’ll wave bye but won’t say it. He knows shapes but if I ask him to get the “red square” he’ll act like he has no idea what I’m talking about. Yet when he plays his shape game he know to put the square in the square spot.
