How much is too much?

We are so grateful to have family that is giving us baby clothes for free, but I'm just wondering what we all really need. What does everything think is the proper amount of baby clothes? How many onesies, sleepers, socks the whole works! I know they grow out of clothes fast, so I don't want to have an abundance of clothes that we won't even use it all before they outgrow it.

Answer

Depends on how much you want to do laundry and spend time dealing with clothes. I'd say realistically you need at least 14 pants and 14 tops in each size plus 5-7 pajamas and a gazillion socks as they will get lost. 
It's very possible to go through 2 or 3 full outfits a day and you dont want to be worrying about not having done laundry in 2 days and therefore have no clothes. You could certainly get away with less but you'll constantly be doing laundry.

It is super case specific to the kid so there isnt an exact perfect amount. My kid was in 2 t by 10 months old. My friend has a son that is in 12-18 months at 2.5 years old.
