Checked if dilated?

I’m 37 weeks, and last week for my 36 week appointment my OB didn’t check it I was dilated? Should she have? It totally slipped my mind. I have an appointment tomorrow though so I will ask her to do a check. I’m just curious because I saw a post of someone getting checked at 36 weeks and forgot that I didn’t get checked. My OB wasn’t in so I saw someone new, and they had to schedule my at another location I ended up driving to the wrong one and being late for my appointment which is why it slipped my mind to ask if I was dilated. I also was just curious about how much my baby weighed so I forgot, but is it on ME to ask? Or should the doctor have done so without having to be asked?
