Can you use a menstrual cup with an iud??

I did for a year, but then saw some people say you’re not supposed to 😖 oops

My OB said it was fine, just make sure you break the seal before removing. I haven’t had any issues in the year I used one, but I recently switched to a reusable disc and that’s an option that doesn’t use suction if you don’t want to risk it.

My provider suggested against it due to the suction seal the cup creates, and the potential for it to cause IUD to shift.
