Will I have to be induced?

Question

Today was my due date. This is my first baby. How likely is it that I’ll have to be induced next week when I’m 41 weeks? My doctor won’t let me go past Friday when I’ll be 41+3 so I’ll probably be induced (if I have to be) sometime between Wednesday and Friday. I have NO symptoms of labor at all and ive been at a 1 since 37 weeks.  
FTMs... when did you go into labor or were you induced?

Your doctor won't "let" you? No, he works for YOU, You and your body don't need permission. 
You can refuse an induction unless genuine medical need. Being overdue a week isn't it. 
Your baby will let you know when it's time.

Theres no way to know. Labor can start suddenly at any time. You could wake up at 3am tonight in labor.

I was 40+3 when my labour started late in the evening, had her at 40+4. I had no symptoms leading up to it. At 40+1 when I went for my check up I was not dilated at all, baby still high. Things can change fast and everyone is different.

With my first I went into labor and gave birth at 38 weeks ... I’m hoping the same for my second

My baby was born in December at 40+2. The day before I gave birth I had very mild back pain but didn’t think anything of it because I always had back pain late in pregnancy. The next morning I started having mild contractions and I had him that night at 9:47. Don’t worry if you’re not showing any signs of going into labour, it will probably happen. I did have sex the night before he was born, so maybe that helped bring on labour but I really don’t know. Good luck! ☺️
