Sudden aversion to the smell of my medication
I’ve been taking levothyroxine pills for several years now and have never noticed anything about how they smell. Well today, when I went to take my pill in the morning (an already opened bottle by the way) I was floored by the smell of the pill, it smelled like paint and strong chemicals. The rest of the bottle smelled strongly of paint/chemicals as well. Since I hadn’t noticed this before, I opened a couple of my empty bottles that I still had from previous months and they smelled the same way. It’s honestly almost unbearable.
I had my husband, who’s extremely sensitive to smells, check it out to see if he agreed with me that the smell was off. He’s not understanding what I’m talking about. Has this ever happened to you? I’m 5 days away from my period. I’m not sure if this could be a pregnancy thing or maybe my pills are bad? I almost didn’t feel right about ingesting my pill today because it felt like I was swallowing chemicals.
Has anyone ever had something similar happen? Should I call the pharmacy?
