What would you do?

I’m feeling super stressed over this whole situation.

My husband is from South Italy and all of his family lives there. His father has stage 4 colon cancer and we were told it won’t be much longer... this situation in itself is terribly heartbreaking.

We previously decided that when this happens, my husband and I will travel for the funeral and my one year old daughter will stay with my mom. We don’t want to add the stress of traveling with a baby on top of what is already going on and we fully trust my mom.

Well now... coronavirus. Italy is a high risk country for the virus right now. Being in an airplane or airport traveling for 18-20 hours is already a lot of exposure. The CDC is recommending if you travel to a high risk country, that you stay home and out of contact with others for 14 days when you get back.

The idea of putting my daughter and ourselves at a higher risk of exposure is very unsettling to me.... but I can’t imagine my husband I not being there for his family or at his fathers funeral.

This is a horrible situation all around. I haven’t mentioned my thoughts to my husband yet because I can’t imagine suggesting we don’t go to his own fathers funeral. He didn’t pass yet, but by the looks of it, it will be very soon. So that’s why this is all coming to mind.

Ugh 🙈 what would you do?
