Nhs ivf UK - baseline before IVF

Hi all!! Happy Saturday. We got funding approved from the NHS 🎉 Our chosen fertility clinic have sent us paperwork to fill in / booked sperm analysis for a couple of weeks time. 😍 we’ve already had lots of provisional tests on nhs ( unexplained infertility is the outcome ) - my satellite clinic has told me to call them on day 1 of next cycle so I can book in for a baseline on or after day 8 ( I think that’s what she said 🥴 ) - does anyone have any idea what’s this for? Haven’t had my consulatation with fertility clinic yet & have been told to take the completed Clinic forms to the baseline appointment at satellite office. 🤷‍♀️ guess they’re just having a look to see what’s going on??? Is having a baseline before you’ve discussed a treatment plan the norm?
