Could I be pregnant

Hey so I have been trying for a baby for a while now and the other week I had spotting which lasted for a day and half a week before my period , I then have recently missed my period and I did a test 2 days after my missed period and it came back negative I am now nearly 4 days late today should I re test once it’s been a week or is it definitely negative needed some help and advice thanks x x
